Skylights in Lakewood, WA

Old domes crack, fog up and grow moss, and the flashing around them is a classic leak spot. We take out the old unit, clean and rebuild the opening, set the new skylight with new flashing, and weave the roof back in around it.

Signs you need it

  • Drips or stains around the skylight
  • Cracked, cloudy or mossy dome
  • Condensation running down the inside
  • You are replacing the roof anyway (best time to do it)

What we do

  • Remove the old skylight or dome
  • Clean out debris and old sealant
  • Rebuild rotten curbs
  • New skylight with new flashing
  • Shingles or membrane woven back around it

In the Northwest

With so many gray months, skylights are worth keeping. Just make sure they are sealed for the rain.

While we get there

  1. Move furniture and valuables away from the drip.
  2. Put a bucket and towels under it. If the ceiling bulges, poke a small hole to drain it into the bucket.
  3. Turn off power to lights near the water.
  4. Don’t climb the roof in rain or wind. We’ll tarp it.
  5. Take photos for your insurance.
